Sheremetyeve (telephone - 095 155 0922) has two grey and soulless terminals, and expect to queue for hours only to be served by unsmiling staff. Once through the checkpoints, there is a post office, bureau de change and tourist kiosk which is very useful as they are few and far between in the city itself.
Outside arrivals, catch minibus numbers 48 and 49 or bus #851 which takes you to the nearest metro station, Rechnoy Vokzal, where you continue your journey underground. Alternatively, taxi’s can be ordered from the official taxi desk in arrivals. A journey should cost R650-800.
Domodedovo (telephone - 095 323 8160)
Gradually attracting some of the major airlines, including British Airways, to its runways, there is a direct express train that runs from Domodedovo to Pavelersky Vokzal in central Moscow. The journey costs R75 and takes 40 minutes, running between the airport and the city every hour, on the hour from 8am-10pm. Taxi’s can also be found outside arrivals but agree the fare before you get in.
Remember: All visitors require a visa to enter the country. These can be bought through travel agents before you leave and the price will depend on how soon you are travelling to Russia.
